Review:  Praying in the Spirit Activates the Covenant

The great man of God, John G. Lake said, “I want to talk with the utmost frankness and say to you, that tongues have been the making of my ministry.”  When people pray in the spirit, they see the miraculous!  The only gift of the Spirit we can control at any time is the gift of tongues.  The nine-branch menorah is a picture of the Holy Spirit.  The middle branch is the only moveable candle.  It is used to light the other candles of the menorah.  When we pray in tongues, the other gifts of the Spirit are lit and begin to burn in our lives.

Gen 24:43-47 is a picture of God sending the Holy Spirit with golden gifts for the bride of His beloved Son.  Seven years after Isaac was to be sacrificed, the servant was sent with golden gifts for the bride of his son.  After Rebekah spoke the words that the servant desired her to speak, the rest of the gifts came out.  Seven weeks after the true beloved Son, Jesus, was sacrificed, the Holy Spirit was sent with gifts for His bride.  Today when we pray in tongues, the other gifts begin to come out.

The gift of tongues is a very special gift.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!  When we don’t know how to pray, we can ask the Holy Spirit to pray for us as we pray in tongues.   As we pray in the spirit, all of the covenant promises of God for us in the Bible become activated.  The Greek word “stenagmos” is only used two times in the entire Bible.  The first time is in Acts 7:34, “I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning (stenagmos) and am come down to deliver them.”  When God heard the groaning of His covenant people, He activated His covenant and brought them out of bondage with silver and gold.  Not one person had any health challenges (Psalm 105:37).  They were walking in divine health.

The one other time the word is used is in Romans 8:26-27.  When we pray in the spirit, God hears the groaning of His new covenant people.  All of the promises of God are then activated in our lives.  Praise God!  If our lives reflect anything less than all of the promises of God, pray in the spirit for that situation.  God will quickly remember His covenant and turn every trial into a testimony!

Prayer 1:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  As you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit will give you the perfect words to utter.  It is the perfect prayer and will always be answered!

Offering:  5 minutes (Share one scripture and then take the offering.)
