Believing in the work of Christ is what is called faith. Faith was not designed to be a barrier to God’s blessings. Faith is simply believing that Jesus has made us righteous, and we are now heirs in our Father’s family. Hebrews 12:2says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” A lot of teaching has focused on our level of faith, or quality of faith. Yet Jesus said all we need is a mustard seed. We all have more than a mustard seed so we don’t need to look at our faith anymore. By looking at our faith, faith will always seem to elude us. Imperfect faith is not a barrier to receiving from God. There is nothing wrong with your faith. We are supposed to look at Jesus and know that His work on the cross guarantees our inheritance. God calls that faith.
Everyone that came to Jesus as his or her Savior in the Bible received from Him. He didn’t turn people away because their level was too small, or they didn’t have perfect faith. I guarantee you a lot of people that came to Jesus had doubts and imperfect faith. Yet Jesus freely healed them and provided for their needs.
Christianity is not about following a list of do’s and don’ts in order to be blessed. It is becoming a member of our Father’s family because of Jesus’ obedience on the cross. We are now joint heirs with Jesus Christ. We can now freely approach the Father and receive everything we will ever need from Him. In Ephesians 1, Paul writes that Jesus has made us holy and blameless before our Father because of His love for us. Ephesians 1:11 tells us we have obtained an inheritance because of Jesus Christ. We are accepted and highly favored in God’s family. Nothing will ever change that amazing truth. The Amplified Bible states in Roman’s 8:16-17, “The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God. And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him].”
You are an heir. You have a loving Father in heaven. God will not turn you away because of your lack of faith or imperfect faith. Jesus was the finisher of our faith. Do you need anything in life right now? Remember, you are a joint-heir with Christ. Every promise has become yes and amen in Christ. Simply ask the Father and you shall receive whatever you need. John 16:24says,“Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” Praise God!
Prayer: 10 Minutes:
If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God. It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
