Review:  The Blood Covenant – Part 3 – It’s Called Grace Because We Don’t Deserve It

God wants us to know that His covenant with us is sure and secure.  Psalm 89:34 says, “My covenant I will not break,
Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.”  The covenant is sure because it is between God the Father and Jesus.  In other words, God cut a covenant with Himself so that mankind can enjoy the blessing and favor of God.    God can never fail, so the covenant is everlasting and will always be in place.  Our part is to simply believe the covenant.  Religion teaches that the covenant is based on man’s obedience.  This immediately creates doubt.  If it is up to us, the covenant could be broken.  We will always wonder if we did everything right.

Romans 4:16 tells us, “Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed.”  This simply means that the covenant is always in place because of God’s promise.  It is not dependent on our obedience.  We can always be sure that God’s covenant to bless us is always in place.  Jesus shed His own blood and promised that, “In blessing I will bless.”

Hope is the confident expectation of good things to come.  No matter what situation you are in, we can rest in the fact that “all things work together for our good.” We have an unbreakable covenant of grace.   We can be sure that good will always come because Jesus cut a blood covenant and said, “In blessing I will bless!”  He doesn’t say He will bless if we are obedient.  He says He will bless us, period!

Thank God that the covenant is not based on our obedience.  That makes us insecure.  We will always wonder if we did everything right!

Belief in Jesus makes God’s blessing, favor and victory sure!  We never have to wonder!  You are forever blessed with faithful Abraham!

Prayer 1:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
