Review:  Easter 2013 – The Miracle of The Cross

Jesus came for one purpose, to be the true sacrificial lamb to redeem all of mankind.  In Leviticus 23, God gives us the 7 feasts of the Lord.  God said they are a holy convocation.  Convocation means a preparation or dress rehearsal for a public performance.  The feasts were all practice.  Jesus was the public performance.  During the Easter week, Jesus fulfilled the Passover Feast, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and Feast of First Fruits.  Seven weeks later, the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost was also fulfilled.

We are going to focus on the Passover.  God instructed Israel to sacrifice a lamb at 9am and 3pm every day.  At the Passover feast, families would bring a lamb for their family to be sacrificed as well.  The lambs were to be inspected for four days to make sure they were without spot or blemish.  Jesus entered Jerusalem four days before the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed and was found to be spotless.  At exactly 9am Jesus was hung on the cross.  At 3pm He declared, “It is finished” and gave up His Spirit.  Jesus fulfilled to the exact day and hour the Passover Feast.

What does this mean for us?  All of our sins and punishment were transferred to the innocent lamb on the cross.  All of Jesus’ righteousness, favor, blessing, health and honor were transferred to us.  The more you clearly see what Jesus did for you on the cross, the more grace and peace (shalom) will be multiplied in your life.  He took all of our diseases, sins, spots and blemishes.  This doesn’t mean you have to live a perfect life.  What it means is that when God looks at you, He sees you through the blood of Jesus. God no longer sees your sins!  He sees you as the righteousness of Christ. Perfected forever!  (Hebrews 10:14)

Prayer 1:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  As you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit will give you the perfect words to utter.  It is the perfect prayer and will always be answered!
