Review: The Battle For What You Believe – The True Meaning of Spiritual Warfare – Part 3

True spiritual warfare is the battle for what you believe.  The spirit in which you operate, or your core belief system, will influence your mind, will and emotions.  The enemy’s tactic is getting you to believe that you don’t have access to everything you need as a son of God.  An evil spirit is a belief system that you need to work to please God and that you are not one with God.  John 1:12 tells us, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”   The message of God is that we are now back in the family of God because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross.  The Last Adam, Christ Jesus, restored our inheritance that the First Adam lost.

When an evil day comes, we are to stand against the wiles of the devil.  The wiles of the devil are lies and accusations about our inheritance.  The enemy will try getting you to believe that you are not an heir.  He will tell you that God is angry and punishing you.  He will say things like, “God will not save you this time.  This is all your fault.”  Nothing could be further from the truth.  You are a joint-heir with Christ Jesus.  When the enemy and life situations tell you it is hopeless, we are to stand in the truth that we are sons of God.  Both Ephesians 6 and Hebrews 4 explain that the sword of the Spirit is the word of God.  We are to keep hearing the message of God for our situation.  Our “fight” is to believe that we are sons of God and we can pray to the Father for any need we will ever need.

The enemy desires to get you out of rest.  He tries to get you to fight him in order to receive your inheritance.  We don’t have to fight a defeated foe.  Jesus completely defeated the enemy.  All we need to do is stand in this truth and enjoy our position of victory.  We are sons of God and full heirs of everything heaven possesses. If we need provision, we can ask the Father.  If we need protection and peace, we can ask the Father.  We are surnamed with the Father and Jesus. If God did not spare His only Son, He will certainly freely give us everything else we will ever need.  All we need to do is ask.

John 16:23-24 tells us,  “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”  Praise God!

Prayer:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
