Review: The True Meaning of Spiritual Warfare
A lot of people think spiritual warfare is binding the devil and demons. They don’t have an understanding that the enemy has already been defeated. Christ Jesus won the battle with his death and resurrection. Colossians 2:15 tells us, “In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” The true spiritual battle is for what we believe.
The enemy will try getting you to believe that he still has power. He will accuse you of your mistakes and areas in your life where you have missed the mark. If you need protection or provision, the enemy will try getting you to believe that God will not come through for you. The enemy’s only tactic is getting you to believe the wrong ideas about who you are and how the Father sees you. When you believe the wrong thing it will start to manifest in your life and cause fears and anxiety.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 tells us, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Can you see that the true warfare is all in what we believe? There is no binding and loosing the devil in warfare. Romans tells us that Christ’s obedience has completed and perfected us forever. Christ has won the battle. We are more than conquerors. We are seated at the right hand of the Father in Christ. The right hand is the position of extreme honor and favor. The enemy has no real power in your life any more. He only tries to get you to believe the wrong thing. God does not want you to be devil conscious. He wants you to keep your eyes on Jesus and the victory He has already accomplished for you. God will never again treat you as anything less than a Son, equivalent to Christ Jesus. If you are facing challenges, such as lack, fear, sickness or depression, God wants you to stay in your position of rest in Christ. The Father’s love for you will turn every situation around in your favor. He loves you unconditionally. The Father desires for you to believe that He will provide for you, protect you, heal you and restore anything that was lost. His love for you will never fail. The enemy wants to get you out of your position of rest and victory and “fight him” for your victory. It is nor your battle. You are far above fighting a defeated foe. Just rest in your position as a son of the Most High God. He will see you through every challenge and always bring you victory! Praise God!

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God. It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
