Review: The True Meaning of Spiritual Warfare – Part 2

A spirit is a vital principle, or core belief, that influences our mind, will and emotions.  So true spiritual warfare is the battle for what we believe.  It is a battle for our heart and soul.   We need to always remember that we are now one with Jesus and the Father.  The enemy will try getting us to believe that God is judging us.  When we go through trials, the enemy will try getting us to believe that we need to fight our battle.  We need to always remember that the battle is not ours.  The battle is the Lord’s.  The Creator of the universe is now our covenant partner.  There is no problem or challenge that is bigger than our God.  And there is no trial or situation that our Savior will not save us from.  He is the Great I AM.  If you need love, He will say I AM love.  If you need provision, He will say I AM your provision.  If you need protection, He will say I AM your protection.

Romans 8:31-32 expresses this idea.  It says,  “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”  God did not spare His only Son even though we were complete sinners.  How much more will He freely give us everything we need now that we are in Christ and members of His family!

If you look closely at all the traditional “spiritual warfare” verses, you will see they all have to do with believing and thinking about the right things.  The famous spiritual armor verses quoted in Ephesians 6 are a great example of this.  God’s armor is believing the truth that we are completely hidden in Christ.   Ephesians 6:10-11 tells us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Our strength is knowing that we are In Him.  His miracle working power is ours. When we know that He is fighting our battles, we remain strong in Him.  We must always remember that He is stronger and more powerful than any of our current trials.  Verse 11 ends with the statement to stand in Him because the enemy only has wiles, not true power over a believer.

Wiles are defined as scheming, craftiness and deceit.  The enemy’s main tactic is getting you to believe you don’t have what you need.  He will accuse you and try getting you to believe that God will not come through for you.  This is the deceit and craftiness of the enemy.

Here is the good news!  You can be strong knowing that you are complete in Christ.  He will not spare any expense to save you from your trial.  He is faithful to His covenant.  Don’t let the enemy trick you into believing the wrong thing.  The evil day comes to every one of us, but we can rejoice because He is already declared that we will be victorious! We will be the ones left standing!  Praise God!!
