Review:  Jesus – The Key to Living in the Blessings of Deuteronomy 28

1 John 2:13 describes a father as someone who knows Jesus.   A father is someone who is mature in his or her understanding of who Jesus is and what He accomplished for us on the cross.  A father understands that Jesus purchased our blessings for us on the cross.    A father understands Jesus has already defeated the enemy, so we don’t need to fight for our victory.   We have already won.

Jesus changed the “if you obey” in Deuteronomy 28:1 to “Jesus obeyed.”   Hebrews 10:12 explains that Jesus sat down after He gave Himself to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins.  Sitting down, is a picture of rest.  We are now seated with Christ in heavenly places.  Jesus has given us a rest from “trying to obey” in order to be blessed.  We are forever seated with Him.  We are far above every enemy of man.  We are above sickness, lack, depression, strife, bondage, etc.  Jesus perfectly obeyed, so we can now enjoy all of the blessings in Deuteronomy 28.

In other words, Jesus is the key to enjoying the blessings of Deuteronomy 28 every day of our lives.  Every blessing listed in Deuteronomy 28 is already ours.  The blessings of God are no longer based on our efforts.  We can enjoy them every minute of every day because Jesus fulfilled every requirement for us.  Not only that, He has redeemed us from all of the curses listed in this chapter.  We no longer have to worry about the curses coming upon us if we fail in some areas.  Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law!

Read through all of the awesome blessings listed in Deuteronomy 28.   Confess them over you life and let the blessings of God literally run you down and overtake you.

Prayer:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
