Review: The Anointing of the Holy Spirit, Lesson 2

Isaiah 10:27 says, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burdens shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Isaiah was prophesying that burdens will be removed and yokes will be destroyed when the anointing comes. When Jesus came, he told everyone the anointing has come. Luke 4:18,21 says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” The anointing is God’s ability flowing through humans by the Holy Spirit. When God’s ability comes, your burden and yokes are naturally removed. Things that were difficult become easy. All obstacles or yokes that try to hold down your destiny dissolve in God’s presence. Praise God!  The Holy Spirit is the most valuable asset to Christian living. Every breakthrough in life is accomplished because of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Every breakthrough in life is not “by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts.” It is not your personal power, but the power of the Holy Spirit that accomplishes things with ease.  So who qualifies for the anointing of the Holy Spirit? God desires the Holy Spirit baptism for everyone who is saved. It is not for a few special people. In Acts 2:38 Peter told everyone, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Jesus said in Luke 11:13, “If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Once you are born again and your spirit is recreated, the Holy Spirit is given to you. If you ask Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit, you will receive it! That makes it incredibly easy for all believers to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The baptism is just the beginning. We need to ask for fresh oil every day. The primary requirement for fresh oil, or fresh anointing, every day is to crave it like we crave a glass of water when we are extremely thirsty. Scripture tells us to hunger and thirst for it. When we realize that all of life’s battles are easily won with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we will crave it. We know that David was a man after God’s own heart. In Psalm 42:1-2 David says, “As the hart panteth after the water brook, so panteth my soul after thee, O god. My soul thirsteth for God.” God worked many miracles through David. David’s thirst for God was his secret. The anointing is what releases God’s power so we can manifest as Sons of God. God has a glorious future planned for you.  But you can’t accomplish it without the anointing.  I pray that everyone will consciously seek the Lord on a daily basis and crave a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Burdens and yokes that used to hold you back will be destroyed because of the anointing. It is such a simple and awesome promise from God. Jesus lifted His voice on the day of the feast and said in John 7:37-38, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.” So when we thirst for it, not only will our thirst be satisfied, it will overflow like a river. You will see with your own eyes the favor of God in your lives. You will see challenges, described as yokes and burdens, destroyed by the fresh anointing. You will manifest as Sons of God because of the anointing!

Prayer 1: 3 Minutes

We are going to seek God for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. John 7:37-38 promises, “If any man thirst let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Burdens will be removed and yokes will be destroyed because of the fresh anointing. You will experience higher levels of breakthrough and favor this week because of the anointing, in Jesus mighty name!

Prayer 2: 3 Minutes:

We will be praying for a harvest of souls this week.  Ask the Lord of the Harvest to whistle to all his sheep in Lagos, Oakland, Colorado Springs, and every fellowship around the country. Ask the Holy Spirit to drive them into church and into every fellowship with His irresistible wind. We will also be praying for the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sins, so they will be saved, and Christ will be formed and complete in all of the people present.

Prayer 3: 3 minutes

We are going to thank God for all past signs and wonders, and that signs and wonders will erupt this week in all of the services and fellowships. Pray for miracles that will gather unbelieving crowds into church.

Prayer 4: 3 Minutes

We are going to thank God for His servant, Bishop Oyedepo, and everyone who serves in the body of Christ. Pray that the Word of God will flow freely and be glorified in every service and fellowship. Pray that all the ministers will speak with flames of fire.

Offering: 5 minutes (Share one scripture and then take the offering.)
