Review: The Name of Jesus

Phil 2:9-10 says, “God hath given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, things in earth and things under the earth.” Everything that has a name must bow at the name of Jesus. When we are born again, we inherit Jesus’ name. John 14:12-14 tells us, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” Once someone believes in and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, that person now has the right to use Jesus name in every situation in life. We do not need to struggle for it. We do not need a special faith to use it. The enemy has deceived people into thinking they need to build their faith for something they already own. You already have the use of Jesus name, now use it.  Jesus said the same thing to the disciples in Mark 16:15-18. “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils’; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” The only faith required was to believe in Jesus. Once you become “a believer”, signs and wonders follow you when you use His name. This is one of the greatest benefits we inherit when we become Christians and enter God’s family.  Acts 3 gives us a great illustration in the use of Jesus name. When Peter and John met the lame man at the Beautiful gate, there was not a prolonged struggle in prayer. Peter and John simply used Jesus name. Acts 3:6-7 says, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.” In Acts 3:12 Peter told the crowd it was not their power or holiness that made the lame man walk, but it was the name of Jesus that caused him to walk. Acts 3:16 says, “His name through faith in his name hath made this man strong.” God does not change. Jesus name still works the same way as it did in the Acts of the Apostles. Scripture says “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do.” Jesus tells us to ask in His name, and He will do it. Sin, sickness and disease, bad habits, impossible circumstances, career and business stagnation, all principalities and powers, anything that has a name will bow in Jesus name! Jesus name has unlimited power and authority over the things in heaven, in earth, and things beneath the earth.  My prayer is that all of you begin to use Jesus name. Signs and wonders will follow you, and many people will enter the Kingdom of God!

Prayer 1: 3 Minutes

We are going to pray the same prayer the Apostles prayed in Acts 4:29-30. We are going thank God that the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to share God’s Word with complete boldness. We are going to thank God that He will stretch forth His hand to heal and signs and wonders will be done in the name of the holy child Jesus!

Prayer 2: 3 Minutes:

We will be praying for a harvest of souls this week.

Ask the Lord of the Harvest to whistle to all his sheep in Lagos, Oakland, Colorado Springs, and every fellowship around the country. Ask the Holy Spirit to drive them into church and into every fellowship with His irresistible wind. We will also be praying for the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sins, so they will be saved, and Christ will be formed and complete in all of the people present.

Prayer 3: 3 minutes

We are going to thank God for all past signs and wonders, and that signs and wonders will erupt this week in all of the services and fellowships. Pray for miracles that will gather unbelieving crowds into church.

Prayer 4: 3 Minutes

We are going to thank God for His servant, Bishop Oyedepo, and everyone who serves in the body of Christ. Pray that the Word of God will flow freely and be glorified in every service and fellowship. Pray that all the ministers will speak with flames of fire.

Offering: 5 minutes (Share one scripture and then take the offering.)

Announcements:

We will have foundation class this Sunday at 9am. The church services are streamed
