Review:  Jesus – Our Substitute for Sin and Sickness

Jesus was our substitute sacrifice for both sin and sickness.  Psalm 103:3 says, “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.”  We are free from every sin and every sickness and disease.  In 1 Peter 2:24 we see that Jesus bore our sins and healed us by taking the stripes that we deserved.  Since Jesus bore our sins and sicknesses, the enemy can never again legally lay them on you and I.

Many believers know that God heals, but they wonder if it is God’s will to heal them.  There is no record in scripture that Jesus denied healing to someone that came to Him.  There are 17 instances in the Gospels in which Jesus healed All the sick.  It is always God’s will to heal everyone spiritually and physically.

For a believer, we can walk in divine health by taking communion.  If we do fall sick, we can always ask to be healed, and we will receive healing.  We have the Spirit of God with all His healing power dwelling in us.  So not only can we enjoy divine health and healing, God desires for us to extend that others.

Luke 9:1-2 says,Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.  He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”   We are the Ambassadors for Christ.  God has given everyone of us authority over every demonic force.  We can command every spirit of infirmity to leave the sick and the demonic spirit will obey and leave.  If we lay hands on the sick and command healing, the sick will recover.  Mark 16:17 says that “these signs shall follow those who believe.”  The signs and wonders are for us to demonstrate to the non-believers that the gospel of Jesus Christ is real.  We are called to heal the sick, but the purpose is to introduce people to the savior, Jesus Christ.

It’s time for Christians to walk in the divine health and healing that Jesus accomplished for us on the cross.  We are also called to share the good news of Jesus Christ and free people from demonic oppression and all manners if sicknesses and diseases.  We simply need to take a small step of faith by preaching the gospel and laying hands on the sick.  God will take the big step and confirm His Word with signs and wonders.

Prayer:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
