God intended the baptism of the Holy Spirit to be a precious gift to His people.  Jesus called it “the Promise.” In john 7:38, Jesus prophesied that rivers of living water would flow out of our bellies after the baptism of the Holy Spirit.   My desire is to create an intense desire for you to pray in the spirit at all times as we cover more of the benefits of praying in the spirit.

Praying in the sprit releases the power of God and activates the other eight gifts of the spirit.  As we put more emphasis on praying in the spirit, we will function like the New Testament church, full of God’s power and declaring the wonderful works of Jesus.

As we pray in the spirit, 1 Corinthians 14:4 says we edify ourselves.  The word edify in Greek is “oikodomeo.”  It literally means to charge up like a battery, embolden, and to be a house builder. Praying in the spirit charges up our spirit, our soul (mind, will and emotions) and our body.  God  intended for the living waters flowing out of us to build a perfect temple for the Holy Spirit.     Most people live their lives based on their senses and their soul.   They have overly developed bodies and souls.  But God intends for us to be led by the spirit.  The more we pray in the spirit, our spirit is charged up and the spirit can lead us.

Praying in the spirit also brings us into the rest and refreshing that God promised in the New Testament. If there is any part of your life that is “dry” or you are experiencing stress, anxiety or depression, you can labor to enter into rest by praying in the spirit.  It may take a couple of days praying in the spirit to get the dry riverbeds in your life to flow, but they will flow.  It is worth every second of laboring in the spirit to experience the rest that God promised.  Once the rivers begin to flow you can easily maintain the   flow of the spirit by praying in tongues throughout the day.  The more you pray in the spirit, the more you will experience God’s promises of rest, abundance, peace, divine health and joy.  Proverbs 18:4 says that wisdom will begin to flow like a flowing brook.  Instead of struggling and laboring to receive His promises, we simply need to labor by praying in the spirit.  We will experience the riches and honor of wisdom’s left hand, and enjoy the length of days in wisdom’s right hand.  Just like Apostle Paul, my  desire is that you would all pray in the spirit.  This is the rest of the New Testament church!

Praye11Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
