Review:  You Can Never Disappoint God

We can never disappoint God because we are hidden in Christ.  When God looks at us, He sees Jesus.  1 John 4:17 says,Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”  As Jesus is right now, so are we in this world.   Right now we have Jesus’ righteousness, divine health, favor and blessing.  Jesus can never be displeasing to God, so we can never again disappoint God.

Romans 5:19 says,  “For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”  Our righteousness is based on the obedience of one man, Jesus.  Thank God our position with God is no longer based on our obedience.  The New Covenant is truly “too good to be true” news.  God wants us to know our health, blessing and favor are based on the obedience of Jesus.  Romans 10:4 confirms this,For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

The enemy tries to make you think that your blessings and favor depend on your obedience.  The enemy tries to make you think that you aren’t good enough.  The enemy tries to get you to think you don’t deserve God’s best because you are still sinning and making mistakes.  Nothing could be further than the truth.  We constantly need to remind ourselves that Christ truly is the end of the law for believers.  We can expect the very best from God because God bases our blessings on the obedience of Jesus.  God says, “Whatever you put your hand to shall prosper.”  You can always expect the very best, because Jesus qualified us for the very best.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 reminds us to bring every thought into the obedience of Christ.  What that means is that when we have doubts about whether or not God will bless us or deliver us in trials, we need to remind ourselves about the obedience of Christ.  It is no longer based on our obedience.  As Jesus is, so are we in this world.  Every promise has truly become “yes” and “amen” for us because God gives us what Jesus deserves, not what we deserve.

Prayer:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
