Review:  The Glory Adam Lost Has Been Restored by Jesus

Last week we saw that prayer is very simple.  In the Gospels, Jesus makes it clear that our Father desires to give us the kingdom.  All we need to do is ask, and we will receive.  That is because the Father treats us like Jesus.  We do not receive anything from God because we deserve it.  We receive because Jesus deserves it.  This is the New Covenant of grace.

Scripture makes it clear that when we ask, we will receive from God, but often times we don’t know how to pray correctly.  This is the reason the first thing the Holy Spirit healed when He came at Pentecost was our tongue.  Imagine how powerful, beautiful and Godly this gift must be if it is the very first gift given to the church, the Bride of Christ.  Romans 8:26-27 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.   Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”  When we pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit prays for us.  It is a perfect prayer and God always answers.  God has made prayer simple by giving us the gift of tongues.

When Adam sinned and was removed from the garden, Genesis 3:24 tells us God dwelled at the east of the Garden of Eden as a flaming sword between the cherubim.  This is a picture of the mercy seat.  The flaming sword kept us out of the garden, but ultimately man would enter back in when the blood of Jesus was shed on the mercy seat.   At Pentecost the church was baptized with the Holy Spirit and with fire.  The flaming sword that kept us out of the garden was now in us.   We activate this sword of the Spirit through the word of God and praying in tongues. Every bondage is easily broken when we pray in tongues.  In addition, we proclaim the magnificent and conspicuous favor of God over our lives.    The glory that Adam lost has been restored by Jesus.

Proverbs 15:4 says, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life.”  God healed our tongue by giving us the gift of tongues.  He has made our tongue wholesome.  As we pray in the spirit, we eat from the tree of life.  We can experience the garden of Eden by praying in the spirit.  Praise God!

Prayer:  10 Minutes:

If there is any situation in your life that needs prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you for that situation.  The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us according to the will of God.  It is the perfect prayer and is always answered!
